Some dental problems may require more than a filling. In some cases, a dental crown or cap is required to protect and strengthen tooth structure in a way that cannot be restored by a filling.
A crown usually requires two visits. The first appointment will include preparation of the tooth and taking several impressions that will be used to create your custom crown. A mold will be used to create a temporary crown which will stay on your tooth until your new crown is fabricated. Once the permanent crown is finished at the dental lab, you will return for a second office visit so our doctors can place your final restoration.
